The Dark Elf army list has the most amount of mount choices available for their characters. Which is great for conversions and fun projects. But there's no end to it. I have over 25 characters on different mounts or on foot now and I am planning to make at least 10 more.

The Noble on a Dark Steed is one of my favorites still. Cheap, flexible and incredibly fast. Stick him in a unit with 5 Dark Riders with full command and it's a pretty tough unit for being Fast Cavalry. I gave him a lance because I like the look of it, Great Weapon might be better but attacking in Initiative order on round 2 has saved him a couple of times.

Here's a list of the parts I used for the conversion:

Head & torso: 6th ed Black Guard model that I filed the hair off.
Lance: 6th ed Cold One Knight Lance.
Sea Dragon Cloak: Took a Skaven Night Runner cloak and covered it with green stuff, made litte dimples with a pen. No matter how many Malus Darkblade Sea Dragon Cloaks I mail-order I never seem to have one when I need one.
Legs: 5th ED Cold One Knight legs. These are pretty nice with large sculls on the knees, I've used them quite a lot for mounted characters.
Shield: 6th ed Cold One Knight shield.
Horse: It's just the standard Elf horse with altered legs and head angle.
