So I wantedt o make a new combined carrying tray and display for my Cult of Slaanesh army. Something that would have a little bit of cult or sect over it. So I figured I would make a similar terrain and the other Display board I made for my regular Dark Elves but with another twist.

I was going to make a pool on one side to baptise new Cult members, one of the Witch Elf models is waving her hand to invite you to come towards her so she was perfect to stick in the pool. I also mail ordered 2 of the Witches that guard the Cauldron of Blood and cut off their weapons and adjusted their arms slightly.

The Tower board got a bit too heavy so I wanted to make this one slim and light and easy to stick in a suitcase. I got a thin wooden board and glued the styrofoam on it.

Then I used my excellent heat knife to melt the Styrofoam. You can see the knife in the top left corder. I really recommend this in stead of the wire versions, You can sculpt the foam with this tool.

I sculpted the pool with the knife and added a little bit of green stuff around the edge to make it more even.

I got some Liquid Water, the plastic pellets that you melt and pour and it hardens and looks just like water. Beautiful stuff, but I was a bit worried that it might melt the Styrofoam. So I made a test with it and yes, of course it did. It burned right through the foam and poured out all over the kitchen. Great.

So I tried to layer paint to strengthen the foam. It worked a little bit, the problem was that the paint held the Liquid Water but would melt the plastic underneath and then eventually break from the weight of the Liquid Water.

I tried sealing the paint with PVA glue. That worked a lot better.

So in the end I painted 5 layers of black paint and 5 layers of PVA glue, that a lot but I wanted to make sure it would hold. And it did.

This is how it came out.

I cut out a little Slaanesh symbol from plasticard and glued it on the middle low pillar.

This is what it looks like with an army on it. I think this was the 2000p list I brought for the GT up in Seattle 2005.
